Wanneroo City 0 Vs. 5 Perth S.C. Perth S.C. narrowed the gap at the top of the table by trouncing Wanneroo City 5-0 at Kingsway Sporting Complex. A error by new Wanneroo goalkeeper Aaron Olow gifted Perth the lead after 14 minutes when he failed to take cleanly an in-swinging Todd Howarth corner which fell nicely for Andreas Oliviera to slot in at from only a couple of metres. Although by far the dominant side Perth managed few other genuine goalscoring opportunities despite Wanneroo, at times, riding their luck. The second half was twelve minutes old when Perth doubled their lead through Robbie Puca following a great piece of lead-up work by Antonio Naglieri. Excellent approach work by Oliveira two minutes later enabled Gary Faria to spectacularly volley in goal number three and effectively end the game as a contest. However, there was still life in Wanneroo and shortly after Craig Cheeseman's audacious chip from 30-metres was tipped onto the crossbar by Gareth Deeg who'd been caught off his line. The margin was further increased by Faria who was the benefactor of a great exchange between Matt Danskin and Barry Wood down the right. The scoring was completed in the 68th minute when a sweeping move saw Naglieri slide a terrific 40-metre pass through to Danksin who in turn played in Wood who made no mistake beating the 'keeper. And just when Wanneroo thought it couldn't possibly get any worse Craig Bowman was shown a red card for abusive language with only a couple of minutes remaining on the clock.
